‘Tinted’ is a film about the anxiety of leaving lockdown / isolation. I made this just before lockdown was lifted, and used it as a way to express my own anxiety of going back to some sort of normality. I named it ‘Tinted’ as a link to the common phrase ‘rose coloured glasses’- pretending everything is ok and that the anxiety of the pandemic was not there as a way of being strong externally to others. The film changes from Black and White to coloured to show the change from the bleakness of isolation to welcoming back the colourful world we had lost during lockdown. The protagonist spills her coffee half way through the film, showing a break of this hard shell she has created; she shows a level of vulnerability as she leaves isolation.
